Lady guard Sharon Mae Casinas apologizes to Amalayer (Salvosa)

On Tuesday afternoon, Casinas, in a statement issued by the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA), is apologizing for whatever she did that was deemed offensive by the female passenger.
The passenger concerned was caught on video by a fellow passenger while speaking to Casinas in a very loud voice.
Casinas merely requested Salvosa to put her bag at the conveyor of the x-ray machine for scanning but the latter somehow missed the procedure and hurriedly entered the station.

"It is one of our policies that station and security personnel refrain from making side comments and facial expressions that may be offensive to our passengers. Ms. Casinas displayed the right attitude expected of a security guard, that is, to be courteous and tolerant in spite of the embarrassment she got from the irate passenger," LRTA officer-in-charge Emerson L. Benitez said.

He noted the LRTA has a standing order for its security personnel to implement the “No inspection, No entry" policy to ensure the safety and security of passengers.

"It is inevitable that during the implementation of security measures, passengers encounter inconveniences. They should understand that the Authority cannot compromise the safety and security of the riding public," said Benitez.

He said all LRT security personnel have undergone a seminar on Quality Customer Service Delivery before their deployment and are given refresher courses semi-annually.

Amalayer says she has become a victim of cyberbullying

In an interview on GMA-7, Paula Jamie Salvosa said she feels bad that the video has gone viral on the Internet, with many criticizing her.

She said the matter should have been resolved privately.

Salvosa has gotten flak online from netizens decrying her tirade, and even lady guard Sharon Mae Casinas has not been immune from criticism.

Salvosa said her aunt has been rushed to the hospital because of what happened and her parents have also become worried.

“I deactivated my Facebook, I deactivated my Twitter account. I wanted to keep mum about the whole thing but sobra na po, bugbog na bugbog na ako. Everybody commits mistakes. May perfect po ba sa mundo? Wala naman eh,” she said.

While she admitted that she indeed raised her voice, Salvosa said the situation could have ended in a different way if the security guard showed humility.

“Sabi niya ‘Ma’am, anong problema mo?’ Ganoon ang tono niya. So sumagot ako hindi ko ide-deny ang tono ko. ‘You are my problema,’ ang sabi ko,”

“Nag-apologize siya sa akin, ganito siya nag-sorry: ‘Eh di sorry na lang po, sorry na lang po.’ Parang ang sa akin I don’t think I deserve that kind of apology,”

Salvosa also claimed that she only snapped when Casinas grabbed her left arm.

“Tapos, ito ‘yon, hinablot niya ako sa left arm ko and I don’t know kung makikita pa rin siya but I have a bruise to prove that. Medyo malabo lang siya but I have [a bruise]. Grinab niya ako. Doon pumitik, doon ako nag-snap kasi grinab niya nga ako,” she said.
