Best singer - Junsu

JYJ's Junsu voted best singer

JYJ's Kim Junsu was voted the best singer of all Korean idol group members, a local survey has shown.

A local newspaper conducted the survey on ten vocal trainers to rank the Korean idol groups and their members based on how well they sing.

The results showed 2AM, a four-member male vocal group, as the best. Big Bang took second place.

Girl group Kara, who gained sensational popularity in Japan, were selected as the worst singing group, with Afterschool, another five-member girl group, placing second.

In the best singer category, Taeyeon of Girl's Generation ranked second after Kim Junsu of JYJ. Also in second place was Hyorin, a member from Sistar.

Sohee of Wondergirls picked up the gong for worst singer, with Goo Hara from Kara second worst. Vocal trainers unanimously agreed on Hara's pretty looks but nothing more.

A music industry figure was quoted as saying the Korean music industry was becoming dominated by idol groups. "Non-idol groups are losing their place in the K-pop industry and even if they do, they are separated from the idol groups like water and oil," he said.

"Music programs, which are a great means to introduce Korean songs, are no longer a place for those solely committed to singing," he added.
